For when minutes matter
A panic-mode escalation for survivors of domestic violence and stalking, journalists in immediate danger, and anyone facing an active threat to physical safety. Free with verified enrollment in a state Address Confidentiality Program.
What changes the moment you flip it on
- Parallel submission. Every open broker request runs at once β no per-host pacing.
- 24-hour SLA. We chase confirmations within a day, not on the broker's 30-day cadence.
- Daily check-in email. Plain-text summary of what moved in the last 24 hours, sent every morning until you turn it off.
- Human reviewer triage. A real person looks at anything that stalls β no algorithm decides whether your case waits.
- Substitute-address protection when paired with ACP enrollment β brokers never see your real address.
Why a separate mode at all?
The normal flow paces broker submission to stay polite β that's the right default. It's the wrong default when the threat is your address being on a stalker's screen tomorrow morning. Code Red drops the politeness and the pacing.
How "free for ACP enrollees" works
U.S. states with an Address Confidentiality Program (also called Safe at Home) certify that an applicant is at material risk. We trust that state-issued certification: if your account has a verified ACP enrollment, Code Red is included at no extra cost for as long as you need it. Marking the enrollment verified is a manual step today β email codered@withheld.io with your applicant ID and we'll flip the flag the same day.
What it does NOT do
Code Red expedites the broker workflow we already run. It does not override broker law β a broker that legally has 45 days to confirm still legally has 45 days. It does not contact law enforcement or take any action outside the privacy-removal pipeline.
Partner organisations
We work with DV and survivor-advocacy organisations to make sure the tool serves real cases. If your organisation refers people to us and you'd like to be listed, get in touch.
- National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV)
- Safe Horizon
- RAINN
- Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC)
- Committee to Protect Journalists
Need help right now? Call your local DV hotline first β Code Red handles broker removals, not immediate physical safety.
Code Red is for now. ACP is for forever.
If you're at material risk, enroll in your state's Address Confidentiality Program first β Code Red is free for verified enrollees and the substitute address protects you across every broker we work with.
